Just finished another one of these rifles for a friend, only this time, I ordered the blank contoured with the shank at the smaller dia, then shortened it by nearly an inch so I wouldn't have to enlarge the bbl channel of the stock just ahead of the action as much as I did on my own rifle. 473" casehead, I'm assuming he's checked to make sure the 527's bolt can be opened up to work with that big a casehead? Since the OP is wanting to chamber one for the BR-based case, which has a. Haven't tweaked the mag much, so wouldn't be at all surprised if someone who's done a lot of magazine work would be able to get them to work perfectly. Turned the Krieger's shank down to 1.071" from 1.250" to be a better match to the 527's receiver, then chambered it for 6RAT & finished it at 24". Pulled the 7.62 bbl and replaced it with a Krieger 6mm/8tw in #3 sptr contour. Since the 220 Russian/6PPC's casehead dia is the same as the 7.62x39, I bought one of the M527 carbines for that ctdg a little over a year ago. ![]()
